How do I find an inmate in Volusia County Jail?

There are three ways to find an inmate in Volusia County Jail:

The Branch Jail houses inmates who are pretrial status, state punished, and medium and high custody non-sentenced males. It has a design capacity of 899 inmates.

Volusia County Correctional Facility (VCCF)

The Correctional Facility houses inmates who are county-sentenced, low and medium custody non-sentenced males, and all female inmates. It has a design capacity of 595 inmates. 

Directions

There are two facilities located off U.S. 92, around four miles west of the Interstate 95 interchange in Daytona Beach. If you’re coming from Daytona Beach, you can take U.S. 92 heading west to Red John or Indian Lake Road. On the other hand, if you’re coming from DeLand or West Volusia, you can take U.S. 92 heading east for about 4.9 miles to reach Red John or Indian Lake Road.

Bond information can be obtained by calling the Branch Jail Booking Office at 386-254-1555. The Office works 24/7, and bonds can be posted in cash or through a bondsman.

Senders will be charged $1.00 per photo (not the inmate). Any photo denied during check due to content or image will be rejected, and the sender will not be charged the processing cost.

Money orders 

Money orders, certified government checks, or cashier’s checks are the only accepted forms of payment. They must be made payable to the inmate with their booking number included. No notes or photos are allowed.

Visitation will be denied and stopped for the following (but not limited to): 

  • Improper conduct
  • Under the influence of any drug or alcohol
  • Disrupting others
  • Unattended juveniles
  • Electronic devices are observed 
  • Any behaviour that is provocative or sexual – zero tolerance
  • Improper dress

Visitation will be by appointment only. For appointments, visit www.icsolutions.com or call 888-646-9437. 

You can schedule appointments anytime, day or night, by using our automatic phone scheduling system. Just make sure you arrive 10 minutes before your visitation time to check-in.

  • Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance and for one visiting session only. 
  • Arrangements must be made by 9 p.m. before the day a visit is requested.
  • Appointments may be made up to two weeks in advance.
  • Multiple appointments made in advance by the same person are restricted. 

Visitation will be from Tuesday to Saturday, and the following visitation sessions are available:

  • 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • 1:40 p.m. to 2:10 p.m.
  • 2:20 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.
  • 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
  • 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • 7:10 p.m. to 7:40 p.m.
  • 7:50 p.m. to 8:20 p.m.
  • 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

If you need help, you can reach the visitation operator between 12:45 and 4:30 pm and 5 and 9 pm on Tuesdays through Saturdays only. Dial (386) 254-1555 to connect.

All visitors are required to check in at the Video Visitation Building, which is located next to the Branch Jail at 1300A Red John Drive.

Please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled appointment. Once your visitation period has started, you will not be allowed to enter the Visitation Center.

No short-shorts, nothing strapless, no spandex, no revealing garments, no see-through, no miniskirts, no cleavage, no muscle or mesh T-shirts. Anyone wearing clothing considered inappropriate will not be allowed a visit. This applies to ALL visitors of all ages.

No, Inmates have different means of communication, such as making calls, texting, sending mail, and having visitations. However, there are rules on communication during the first 72 hours of their incarceration.

This is because they have to participate in various activities such as classification, housing changes, court appearances, and medical evaluations during the initial days of their imprisonment.

What should I do if I know or believe an inmate was a victim of a crime while in jail?

Call the Grievances and Investigations staff at 386-258-4045.

Who should I call if I am concerned an inmate needs medical treatment?

Does Volusia County assess fees to inmates?

Yes. Volusia County charges a one-time fee of $30.00 per booking, as well as a daily subsistence fee of $5.00. These fees will be deducted from the inmates’ accounts. However, if eligible inmates decide to work while they are incarcerated, they will not be required to pay the $5.00 per day subsistence fee.
